Security Operations Engineer

Overview

Security Operations Engineer responsible for designing, implementing, and operating security controls across infrastructure, systems, and operational workflows.

What you'll do

• Design, deploy, and maintain core defensive security systems and infrastructure guardrails.
• Conduct threat analysis and threat modeling to identify attack surfaces and mitigations.
• Review code and system integrations for security risks using code comprehension.
• Track vulnerabilities from scans/pentests/bug reports, prioritize by risk, and drive fixes to closure.
• Administer and maintain SIEM/SOAR platforms for detection and incident response.
• Write and tune detection rules/queries to identify threats and reduce false positives.
• Analyze alerts, perform forensic analysis, and manage escalation/communication during active incidents.

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• 5–7+ years of hands-on experience in defensive security, security controls, or security response environments.
• Experience managing vulnerability findings from identification through remediation.
• Working knowledge of SIEM/SOAR platforms and writing detection rules (e.g., SPL, KQL, or similar).
• Deep understanding of network, host, application, and cloud security concepts.
• Strong written and verbal skills for documenting findings and escalating issues.
