Self Service Reporting, Business Analyst, Officer

Overview

Support the end-to-end analysis, design, development and maintenance of self-service reports and dashboards for State Street Alpha Services and Investment Management Services.

What you'll do

• Participate in the design, implementation and testing of dashboards and reports.
• Work with operations, clients and technology to deliver projects.
• Develop data and functional requirements and assist in creating estimates and dashboards or reports using different source applications.
• Participate in information delivery and business intelligence strategy sessions.
• Complete data analysis, profiling and data mappings.
• Interface with data experts and data sourcing resources, assist with data validation, and write queries.
• Assist in developing conceptual and logical data models with appropriate business contexts.
• Perform data gap analysis on complex financial data.
• Serve as a subject matter expert and assist users with ad hoc dashboard and report construction queries and with researching issues involving existing data, query tools and reports.
• Ensure project activity is customer focused, results oriented, performance driven and compliant with applicable internal and external requirements.
• Employ analytical, conceptual and creative thinking skills to improve performance.
• Support user training, documentation and rollout.
• Maintain effective working relationships with organizational teams and clients.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, MIS, Information Technology or a related field of study.
• 8+ years of experience analyzing, designing and developing reports and dashboards using BI tools.
• Demonstrated excellence in business writing, developing business process flow diagrams, making comparisons regarding current and future processes, and effective communication.
• Hands-on experience in data analysis and querying using the Snowflake cloud data platform, including writing and optimizing complex SQL queries, working with large structured and semi-structured datasets, and validating data quality.
• Ability to analyze query execution, troubleshoot data issues, and improve query performance and compute efficiency in Snowflake.
• Familiarity with Snowflake concepts such as virtual warehouses, databases, schemas, roles, stages, views and secure data access.
• Expertise in designing and developing reports and dashboards using BI suites.
• Ability to articulate basic project methodology concepts using either SDLC or Agile.
• Ability to analyze entity-relationship diagrams and logical data models to validate design against requirements.
• Ability to write SQL code for data analysis through queries, data profiling and data validation exercises.
• Familiarity with financial reporting, business intelligence and data warehousing principles.
• Understanding of BI and reporting tool architecture, functions and features.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills for diverse audiences, with excellent facilitation.
