Overview
Senior Application Engineer I in presales engineering for Fire Protection & Suppression systems.
What you'll do
- Own end-to-end presales engineering activities for Fire protection & Suppression opportunities.
- Handle techno-commercial activities for projects involving fire sprinkler, hydrant, water spray, foam, and gas suppression systems.
- Review project inputs and intake forms, analyze requirements, and run kick-off discussions.
- Prepare designs to arrive at BOQ (or proceed when BOQ is unavailable) and surface risks/issues to the customer.
- Coordinate with OEMs and subcontractors; analyze proposals and commercials and verify via past data/benchmark costing.
- Prepare optimized techno-commercial costing sheets, proposals, and compliance statements; perform self and team QC and submit deliverables.
- Update SFDC, complete timesheets and assigned training, negotiate follow up with OEMs and internal post-sales, and participate in daily cadence calls.
What you'll need
- 8+ years of relevant experience in Fire Protection & Suppression Systems.
- Strong knowledge of Fire Protection & Suppression systems including multiple device/system types (e.g., sprinklers, pre-action, hydrant, foam, water mist, gas suppression).
- Presales and estimation experience across verticals such as Transportation, Commercial, Fit-outs, Industries, and Data Centers.
- Ability to perform hydraulic and flow calculations and perform product selections with deviation/compliance statements.
- Capability to work on complex costing sheets across material, engineering, operations, and subcontract costs.
- Skill in articulating solutions via structured, high-standard technical proposals documents.
- Proficient written and verbal communication and ability to be a good team player.
Nice to have
- Experience designing Fire Protection & Suppression systems per standards such as NFPA, BSEN, Vds, TAC, and NBC.
- Proficiency with hydraulic and flow calculations using SprinkCAD, Fire-CAD, ANSUL, and HYGOOD.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, Sprink CAD, Fire CAD, Navis, and Excel.
