Senior Backend Developer - Commerce

Overview

Senior HCL Commerce Developer responsible for integrating the commerce application with systems and services and building APIs for a headless frontend. The role focuses on application functionality, performance, scalability and technical direction during the move to HCL Commerce v9.

What you'll do

• Integrate HCL Commerce with required systems and services.
• Build clean REST APIs for the frontend.
• Develop across the React Adapter layer and headless frontend.
• Apply REST API design, caching and refactoring practices.
• Work with HCL Commerce and adapter technologies.
• Support the move from HCL Commerce v8 to v9.
• Develop unit, integration and API tests.

What you'll need

• At least 8 years of HCL Commerce experience.
• Experience with REST Client, Catalogue, Payments and Member modules.
• Knowledge of object-oriented paradigms, SOLID principles and design patterns.
• Knowledge of relational databases, SQL and query tuning or optimisation.
• Ability to integrate with legacy or back-office systems.
• Understanding of clean APIs, databases and system functionality.

Nice to have

• Experience with GraphQL, Apollo Client or Apollo Server.
• Experience with TypeScript and the React Adapter layer.
• Oracle database experience.
• Experience integrating ERP, CRM or BI systems.
• Large-scale web application performance tuning experience.
• Knowledge of DevOps, infrastructure as code and provisioning tools.
