Senior Category Management Specialist - IT Category

Overview

Senior Category Management Specialist supporting Global Category Managers in executing regional and global sourcing events across the IT category, including Hardware, Software, SaaS, Networking and IT Services.

What you'll do

• Support Global Category Managers/Senior Managers in executing regional and global sourcing events across all assigned categories, including sourcing administration and event support across the IT category.
• Lead project execution for assigned events within technology initiatives and projects (SaaS, Cloud, Hardware, IT Services, Telecom, etc.).
• Apply knowledge of IT indirect sourcing and IT market/industry trends.
• Use defined strategic sourcing methodologies, tools, and templates to ensure a fair, open, and competitive sourcing process.
• Support Global Category Managers/Senior Managers in developing regional and global sourcing strategies across multiple indirect facilities management categories.
• Lead strategy development for assigned sourcing events.
• Develop effective and trusting relationships with Business Partners to ensure successful project delivery.
• Participate in the development and execution of contracts and ensure compliance with Procurement/Sourcing guidelines, contract signature process and Audit requirements.
• Adhere to internal sourcing policies, ethical sourcing standards and the global regulatory framework.
• Perform and deliver sourcing analysis of strategic sourcing events.
• Manage research and analysis to keep abreast of innovations, new products, new sources, price trends and market conditions.
• Participate in Global Category Management planning for assigned categories and support category strategy development as assigned by management.
• Provide insights and develop recommendations for supplier selection to Business Partners in partnership with Category Managers.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree or post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Business, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 4 years of strategic sourcing, procurement, or related experience.
• Ability to independently drive/lead assigned sourcing events with Business Partners.
• Knowledge of RFx requirements, including sourcing event structure, supplier selection, RFx criteria, timing, length, type and complexity of RFI, RFP and/or e-Auction.
• Understanding of basic negotiation principles in support of value delivery.
• Proven skill in partnering with other relevant functions to drive cross-functional alignment and support on assigned sourcing events/projects.
• Understanding of Supplier Compliance and Supplier Risk Management.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong command of procurement/sourcing systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to analyze data related to spend, supplier performance and market trends, and to recognize trends within spend categories.
• Strong project management and organization skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in the services industry or a Global Capability Center managing indirect categories for multinational Business Partners and suppliers.
• Experience working in a global matrix organization.
