Senior Engineer

Overview

Senior Engineer role at Brightstone, JLL's residential property management service, overseeing building engineering and maintenance for housing complexes, townships and residential communities.

What you'll do

• Supervise engineers and maintenance staff, including hiring, training and personnel development.
• Manage engineering operational accounts for buildings and assist in developing operating and capital budgets.
• Assist with maintenance and engineering issues as required.
• Recommend and implement improvements to preventive maintenance programs on an ongoing basis.
• Develop and maintain asset-specific maintenance and safety procedure manuals and enforce compliance.
• Coordinate maintenance efforts with outside contractors, tenant finish personnel and engineers.
• Oversee all building systems, including fire/life safety, plumbing, HVAC and electrical, and stay current with HVAC technology trends.
• Administer equipment and construction warranties with respect to the defect liability period.
• Coordinate the development and maintenance of the as-built drawing library.
• Respond quickly to emergencies (such as fire, evacuation or equipment failure) and customer concerns.
• Implement and administer inventory control programs and purchase parts and supplies.
• Develop specifications and assist in soliciting and administering maintenance and repair service contracts.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, government agency and company directives for building operations.
• Supervise maintenance staff and assign and monitor maintenance projects.
• Conduct regular inspections of mechanical, electrical and equipment systems and make necessary adjustments to operating equipment and controls.
• Provide quality assurance by creating and implementing preventive maintenance programs and recommending improvements on an ongoing basis.
• Maintain engineering reports.
