Job description

Overview

As a Staff Logic Equivalence Engineer on Marvell's CAD team, you will develop and maintain the Equivalence Checking infrastructure that ensures RTL-to-Gate and Gate-to-Gate transformations preserve functional correctness across Marvell's Business Units.

What you'll do

  • Develop and maintain leading-edge Equivalence Checking flows addressing the needs of Marvell's various Business Units.
  • Apply strong debugging capabilities to root-cause and resolve equivalence issues.
  • Contribute to RTL2Gate and Gate2Gate logic equivalence flow development, including understanding of pin constraints, don't-verify points, and other considerations based on DFT requirements.
  • Work closely with the synthesis and DFT teams to ensure a seamless handoff into the equivalence flow.
  • Contribute to functional ECO flows.
  • Contribute to low-power checks within the equivalence methodology.
  • Support the deployment and ongoing support of these flows.
  • Collaborate with the broader team to ensure optimal integration within the overall CAD platform.
  • Develop innovative solutions to address ever-increasing design challenges.
  • Stay current with evolving processes and tools.
  • Interface with EDA vendors to ensure optimal tool usage.

What you'll need

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in EE/CS with 2+ years of hands-on experience in Equivalence Checking and functional ECO flow development.
  • Recent experience with either Cadence Conformal or Synopsys Formality toolsets.
  • Solid understanding of synthesis transforms-to-gate level logic equivalence debug.
  • Solid understanding of functional ECO flows.
  • Solid understanding of power intent and multiple power domain management.
  • Basic knowledge of RTL coding.
  • Basic DFT understanding (controllability, observability, scan chain stitching) and the constraints needed for equivalence checking.
  • Good level of proficiency in Tcl scripting in the context of flow development.
  • Strong analysis and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think outside the box.
  • Team player with good verbal and written communication skills.

Nice to have

  • Experience with both Cadence Conformal and Synopsys Formality toolsets.

Details

  • Location: Bangalore.
  • Eligible to participate in Marvell's bonus and equity plans, including a new hire equity grant and annual equity refreshers.
  • Role may require access to export-controlled technology under U.S. EAR; applicants may be subject to an export license review unless they are U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, or protected individuals.
