Senior Engineering Manager, Data Science

Senior Engineering Manager for Data Science at Truecaller for Business (TfB), leading data science and analytics to drive intelligence, safety, and operational clarity.

What you'll do

• Own the Data Science strategy and technical roadmap for TfB.
• Translate business vision into executable data initiatives and define core KPIs.
• Architect, scale, and drive production deployment of ML models.
• Partner with Product, Platform Engineering, and Leadership to shape scope, features, and risk policies.
• Direct, mentor, and grow Data Scientists and Analysts.
• Ensure model accuracy, system uptime, and measurable business impact.
• Set standards for model governance, monitoring, unit testing, and data privacy compliance.

What you'll need

• 12+ years total experience in Data Science/Machine Learning, including 2+ years in engineering management.
• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (Data Science, ML, CS, Statistics, Mathematics, or related).
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and the modern ML ecosystem (scikit-learn, TensorFlow/PyTorch, pandas).
• Experience querying very large datasets efficiently (BigQuery, Spark, or similar).
• Experience with MLOps pipelines and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) for scaling real-time predictive models.
• Strong communication skills for explaining complex statistical models to non-technical partners.
