Overview
Lead the Frontend Platform and Navigation engineering squads, owning team performance, delivery, technical direction and customer outcomes across Grafana’s frontend ecosystem.
What you'll do
- Lead performance, coaching, development and accountability for two distributed engineering squads.
- Own hiring, team planning, capacity and skills alignment across both squads.
- Shape roadmaps by combining customer, community and internal-user feedback with product evidence.
- Partner with Product, Design and engineering leaders to set priorities and resolve dependencies.
- Own delivery from discovery through rollout, measurement and risk management.
- Set engineering direction for frontend foundations, navigation, search and resource organisation.
- Lead AI, automation, productivity, quality, security and operational improvements.
What you'll need
- Significant experience managing senior engineers and developing technical leaders.
- Strong technical foundation in modern web or frontend systems.
- Experience turning ambiguous cross-team problems into priorities and measurable results.
- Strong product and customer judgement.
- Clear written communication in a remote, globally distributed organisation.
- Practical experience using AI and automation in leadership work.
- Appreciation for open-source development and Cloud-first delivery.
Nice to have
- Experience with React, TypeScript or comparable large-scale frontend ecosystems.
- Experience leading developer platform teams supporting plugins or extensions.
- Experience with navigation, search, information architecture or resource-management products.
- Experience delivering multitenant SaaS or major platform migrations.
- Experience working on a widely adopted open-source product.
