Senior Java Developer

Overview

Senior Java Developer to design, build, test, and maintain Java-based applications and services for Caterpillar’s MineStar ecosystem.

What you'll do

• Design, build, and maintain Java-based applications and services for the MineStar ecosystem.
• Produce clean, well-tested, maintainable code aligned to agreed standards with quality/security/resilience.
• Deliver features end-to-end with the scrum team from refinement/estimation through implementation, testing, and release.
• Contribute to solution design and technical decision-making for complex problems and create design artifacts.
• Participate in code and design reviews and promote engineering standards and continuous improvement.
• Support production operations by monitoring services, troubleshooting incidents, and performing root-cause analysis.
• Mentor other engineers through pairing, coaching, and knowledge sharing.

What you'll need

• 7+ years of relevant commercial development experience.
• Commercial implementation experience with microservices and distributed architecture.
• Commercial experience with modern database design and technologies.
• Commercial experience with web applications on cloud infrastructure.
• Experience building, testing, and dependency management tools.
• Experience with RESTful APIs; Java, Spring, and Spring Boot.
• Willingness to learn and consistent approach to self-development and improvement.
• Strong analytical, design, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage your own time and agreed priorities.
• Experience with modern security principles and technologies.
