Senior Lead Engineer

Overview

Senior Lead Engineer (P3) at Collins Aerospace, RTX, responsible for structural analysis of aircraft components and assemblies.

What you'll do

• Lead or perform structural analysis of aircraft components and assemblies as part of an integrated team.
• Calculate loads and perform static and fatigue analysis.
• Evaluate structural integrity of aircraft components using Classical Analysis and Finite Element Analysis.
• Generate documentation reporting analysis results to support certification.
• Take ownership of projects and handle them with minimum dependency.
• Complete analysis tasks within the stipulated time and to high quality.
• Communicate with cross-functional teams and SBU, and show a go-getter attitude.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering or equivalent.
• 7-10 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in structural analysis of metallic aircraft components and assemblies.
• Experience with calculation of loads, static and fatigue analysis.
• Experience with the finite element analysis tool Abaqus.
• Hands-on experience with design software CATIA V5.
• Robust understanding of engineering fundamentals such as material properties, free body diagrams, loads and analysis methods.
• Strong academic background with knowledge of the aerospace domain.
• Good understanding of strength of materials, engineering drawing and manufacturing processes.
