Overview
Drive global materials procurement strategy, cost structures, and savings across raw materials and upstream suppliers. The role focuses on commodity intelligence, clean-sheet costing, supplier strategy, RFPs, negotiations, and supply-chain value creation.
What you'll do
- Forecast market shifts, raw-material fluctuations, currency risks, and supply trends.
- Build live tracking systems for material prices, currencies, and supply risks.
- Develop material-specific clean sheets and support margin reviews.
- Design Tier 2 and Tier 3 supplier strategies to improve cost, capacity, and availability.
- Design and execute material-focused RFPs through supplier award.
- Negotiate cost reductions with upstream material suppliers.
- Identify value-creation opportunities through verticalisation and volume consolidation.
What you'll need
- 12–15 years of experience in raw-material sourcing, commodity procurement, or upstream supply-chain management.
- Deep knowledge of textile raw materials, including yarns, fibers, fabrics, leather, and related commodities.
- Experience negotiating with mills, tanneries, yarn spinners, and raw-material vendors.
- Knowledge of commodity hedging frameworks and global market indices.
- Experience building and executing material-specific clean sheets.
- Strong analytical and financial-modelling skills with large datasets.
- Bachelor’s degree.
Nice to have
- Experience in upstream supply-chain network design or consolidation.
- MBA or advanced degree.
