Senior Principal- AI / ML Engineer, Market Access Intelligence, LVA, Lilly USA Tech

Overview

Senior individual-contributor role building and deploying production AI/ML systems for market access, real-world evidence, payer analytics, and value/access workflows. The role focuses on hands-on architecture, coding, model development, evaluation, deployment, and light technical mentoring.

What you'll do

• Architect production-grade ML, deep learning, generative AI, and agentic AI systems.
• Build RAG, Text2SQL, semantic search, predictive modeling, and workflow automation solutions.
• Design, train, fine-tune, evaluate, and deploy neural network and language models.
• Own the AI/ML lifecycle from problem framing and data preparation through monitoring and improvement.
• Build scalable data, feature, AI service, and API pipelines on cloud and enterprise platforms.
• Implement MLOps and LLMOps practices including CI/CD, observability, testing, tracking, and model management.
• Provide technical guidance and review designs, code, and architecture for squad engineers.

What you'll need

• 6+ years building and deploying production machine learning or AI solutions.
• 3+ years working with generative AI, LLMs, RAG, embeddings, prompt engineering, evaluation, and agentic workflows.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Hands-on deep learning experience with PyTorch; TensorFlow is preferred.
• Experience with AI services on AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Experience implementing MLOps or LLMOps practices.
• Strong software engineering, system design, communication, and business problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in pharma, healthcare analytics, market access, real-world data, or payer/formulary data.
• Experience with PySpark, Databricks, SageMaker, Azure ML, or similar platforms.
• Experience with multi-agent systems, Text2SQL, knowledge graphs, hybrid retrieval, and LLM evaluation.
• M.Tech, MS, or higher in Computer Science, AI, ML, Data Science, or a related quantitative discipline.
