Senior Project Engineer -SIS

Overview

Senior Project Engineer - SIS at ABB, serving as a design authority for an engineering discipline and leading engineering execution for process automation projects in energy industries.

What you'll do

• Complete design and engineering assignments across multiple moderate-sized projects or parts of major projects.
• Ensure work is completed in line with contract specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and cybersecurity policies.
• Collaborate on installation and commissioning activities to clarify issues or rectify engineering errors.
• Coach engineers and designers on translating conceptual designs into engineering documentation (modeling, prototyping, calculations).
• Lead and coordinate teams (fewer than 10 members) across engineering disciplines (in-house and outsourced).
• Provide technical support for commissioning and start-up activities.

What you'll need

• Minimum 10 years of design, engineering, testing, commissioning, and consulting experience for Control and Safety Systems in specified process industries.
• Experience managing cross-functional teams.
• TUV Functional Safety Engineer Certification (or equivalent).
• Working knowledge of the Safety Lifecycle and participation in functional safety assessments.
• Working knowledge of IEC61508 and IEC61511.
• Proficiency in Safety System design, application programming, hardware design, and HMI graphics development.
• Experience with Safety System hardware inspection, FAT, SAT, loop checks, start-up, and commissioning.
