Senior Software Engineer - C/C++, IIoT Wireless & Satellite Networking |8-12 years

Overview

Senior Software Engineer working on IIoT hardware platforms and wireless/satellite networking products, spanning low-level software and control/data plane development.

What you'll do

• Design and develop IIoT hardware platform software for integration across hardware and software layers.
• Build control plane and data plane software for Cisco IIoT Wireless products.
• Develop low-level components including BSP, radio device drivers, and kernel modules.
• Analyze requirements and problem statements to produce software design and solutions.
• Write design documents and functional specifications.
• Code and unit test software components and modules, including automation and white-box testing.
• Triage, debug, simulate root causes, support software bring-up, and investigate customer failures.

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s degree with 8-12 years, or Master’s degree with 6-10 years, in Computer Science, EE/ECE, or related fields.
• Experience with control plane or data plane software and prior wireless experience (802.11ac/ax/be).
• Strong understanding of OS (Linux/RTOS/Unix) and experience with Linux kernel, device drivers, and BSPs.
• Hands-on expertise in 802.11 radio firmware and system architecture.
• Experience debugging cross-layer issues (RF, firmware, driver, system).
• Understanding and development experience in LEO satellite communication systems and architectures, including Starlink services and user terminals.
• Proficient in writing quality code in C/C++.

Nice to have

• Significant experience in 802.11 driver development/troubleshooting or LEO/satellite internet and LTE/cellular gateway communication and architecture.
• Hands-on development experience with L2 and L3 wireless protocols.
• Cisco networking certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE are desirable.
• Experience with AI/ML and agentic AI framework.
