Senior Software Engineer (Full Stack) - Consumer Intelligence & Engagement

Overview

Senior Software Engineer (Full Stack) to design, build, and maintain production-grade backend services and web applications supporting personalisation and recommendation capabilities across digital channels.

What you'll do

• Develop production-grade APIs and service layers for personalisation and recommendations.
• Build and evolve web-based applications and user experiences.
• Build model-serving and inference integration layers for real-time and batch recommendation patterns.
• Implement reliable, scalable, low-latency services with resiliency, observability, and performance focus.
• Support high-volume consumer use cases using caching, event-driven processing, and distributed systems patterns.
• Lead technical design discussions and contribute to architecture decisions.
• Perform code reviews and mentor junior engineers; establish engineering standards and best practices.

What you'll need

• 7+ years of experience building scalable, resilient, maintainable microservices and web applications in modern cloud environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot for production backend services.
• Frontend development experience with React framework (strongly preferred).
• Strong system design and distributed architecture understanding.
• Knowledge of distributed systems fundamentals including concurrency, asynchronous processing, idempotency, exception handling, and circuit breakers.
• Experience with event-driven architecture using Kafka or similar technologies.
• Experience with SQL/No-SQL databases and distributed data management.

Nice to have

• Experience integrating LLM APIs into production applications.
• Understanding of embedding-based similarity search and vector databases.
• Experience using coding agents, LLMs, or AI-assisted engineering tools.
• Experience in eCommerce, retail, or consumer digital products.
