Senior Software Engineer – Java, Security & SD-WAN Platform from 8+ Years

Overview

Senior Software Engineer for Cisco’s Routing SD-WAN group, working on the SD-WAN Manager platform layer.

What you'll do

• Develop and enhance the SD-WAN Manager platform layer with scalable backend services and distributed systems.
• Design and build foundational platform capabilities supporting multiple product teams and applications.
• Contribute to platform architecture, service frameworks, developer tooling, build systems, and runtime reliability.
• Collaborate across teams to improve platform scalability, maintainability, and operational excellence.
• Use strong DSA, multithreading, and OOP fundamentals to build scalable and secure solutions.

What you'll need

• 8+ years of software development experience.
• BE/BTech/MS/MCA in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Expertise in Java and Data Structures & Algorithms (DSA).
• Experience with observability/monitoring, telemetry pipelines, and performance optimization.
• Experience with security protocols including authentication, authorization, secure coding, and resilient system building.
• Exposure to distributed systems, cloud-native technologies, and Linux-based environments.
• Hands-on debugging, root-cause analysis, CI/CD, automated testing, and modern quality engineering practices.
