Senior Software Engineer (m/w/d) – Medical Devices

Overview

Senior Software Engineer supporting the Surgical R&D team for medical device software at WaveLight (Teltow, Germany).

What you'll do

• Develop, maintain, and enhance medical device software applications using C# and C++ in a Windows environment.
• Collaborate with local and global engineering teams to deliver solutions for WaveLight and VARION products.
• Participate in software design, implementation, testing, debugging, and release activities across the product lifecycle.
• Work with frameworks such as Qt and contribute to software architecture discussions and improvements.
• Support software development in a regulated medical device environment while ensuring quality and regulatory compliance.

What you'll need

• Have a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Bring 7+ years of experience in software development.
• Have strong programming skills in C# and C++.
• Have experience developing software applications in a Windows-based environment.
• Have experience with software development lifecycles, testing methodologies, and software release processes.
• Be fluent in English; German language skills are preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience with Qt is highly desirable.
• Experience in the Medical Device Industry or another regulated environment is a strong advantage.
