Software Engineer II - C++/Rust

Overview

Software Engineer II (C++/Rust) responsible for building and evolving low-level, performance-critical software for Dedrone’s detection and tracking platform.

What you'll do

• Develop and maintain high-performance C++ applications for detection and tracking.
• Contribute to incremental migration of existing C++ components to Rust.
• Implement and optimize parallel processing pipelines on Linux.
• Collaborate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and knowledge sharing.
• Diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks, memory issues, and concurrency bugs.
• Help define and uphold engineering standards as the tooling and language stack evolves.

What you'll need

• Have 3+ years of professional software development experience with a foundation in C++.
• Have practical, hands-on Rust experience, including having shipped Rust code.
• Understand parallel and concurrent programming patterns for safe and efficient use.
• Have experience developing and deploying software on Linux.
• Use a methodical approach to performance profiling before optimization.
• Hold a B.Sc. in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering (or equivalent practical experience).

Details

• Based in the Kassel office with a hybrid schedule: onsite Tuesdays through Fridays and remote on Mondays.
