Senior Software Engineer, SRE

Overview

Senior Software Engineer, SRE to help ensure platform reliability through SRE practices, observability, automation, incident management, and reliability-focused collaboration.

What you'll do

• Facilitate blameless post-incident reviews and identify root causes and remediation items.
• Track incident trends and implement chaos engineering and disaster recovery exercises.
• Establish SRE principles and define SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets to guide reliability and release decisions.
• Reduce toil via automation and infrastructure-as-code, including measuring toil reduction against a 50% target.
• Build observability systems and alerting aligned with the Four Golden Signals and USE/RED.
• Provide reliability input during design reviews and partner via code/design reviews to implement reliability from the design phase.
• Participate in a 12x7 on-call rotation for critical outages.

What you'll need

• Preferably 8+ years of experience in DevOps/SRE roles.
• Demonstrated expertise implementing SRE principles, SLO/SLI frameworks, and error budget policies in production.
• Deep experience with observability/monitoring platforms such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, New Relic, or equivalents.
• Strong incident management background, including experience as an Incident Commander and conducting blameless postmortems.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and reliability engineering failure modes and fault tolerance patterns.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and service mesh such as Istio or Envoy (and others listed).
• Strong hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.

• Location: Bengaluru, India.
• Hybrid working approach: generally work in the office Monday through Thursday; Fridays generally flexible for remote work (with exceptions).
