Senior Systems Software Engineer (Platforms Developer, Interfaces/Optics)

Overview

Senior Systems Software Engineer focused on platform software and interfaces/optics for cloud-ready routing products, working end-to-end across the product lifecycle.

What you'll do

• Lead multiple project teams across system design and development stages for complex products and platforms.
• Manage and expand relationships with internal and outsourced development partners for software systems work.
• Review and evaluate designs and project activities against systems design/development guidelines to improve quality.
• Provide domain-specific expertise and software systems leadership across cross-organization projects.
• Drive innovation and integration of new technologies into software systems design organization projects.
• Provide guidance and mentoring to less-experienced staff members.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
• Typically 14+ years of experience.
• Strong C and C++ programming fundamentals.
• Experience in distributed systems and OO analysis & design (OO and distributed are stated as “big plus”).
• Proficiency in working close to hardware including device drivers and Linux/OS fundamentals.
• Ability to troubleshoot and debug complex issues.
• Understanding of firmware/hardware optics and related interfaces (e.g., PCIe, SPI, I2C, retimers, FPGA, CPLD, MDIO, Ethernet 10ge–400ge, SyncE/PTP).
