Service Engineer - Power Transformer

Overview

Supervise the erection, testing and commissioning of 765 KV power transformers at various sites in India, handling customers and contractors effectively.

What you'll do

• Supervise erection and commissioning of 765 KV power transformers at various sites in India.
• Handle customers and contractors effectively.
• Provide technical advice to customers on commissioning, installing and testing of products and equipment.
• Identify and correct more complex problems associated with start-up.
• Research, evaluate and recommend new products or equipment upgrades that meet customer needs.
• Develop ongoing relationships with customers to secure future business.
• Resolve or troubleshoot implementation problems and/or train customers on the features of purchased equipment.
• Be responsible for safe and successful completion of site work, and communication with factory departments, suppliers and customers.
• Carry out oil filling, filtration and vacuum process at site.
• Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures and guidelines.

What you'll need

• BE/B.Tech in electrical engineering from a reputed college of engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in power transformer and reactor erection, testing and commissioning, and troubleshooting of power transformers up to 500 MVA, 765 KV class.
• Vast knowledge of transformer, reactor and special transformer installation, testing and commissioning.
• Familiarity with the latest safety standards.
• Customer handling and manpower/team handling capabilities.
• Knowledge of general arrangement drawings and schematic drawings.
• Ability to successfully perform parallel operation and other schemes.
• Understanding of all types of power transformers and reactors.
• Experience checking schematic wiring, RTCC panel and OLTC parallel operation.
• Experience handling turnkey projects, 765 KV class transformers and reactors, and HVDC transformers.
• Proficiency in MS-Office, Excel and email.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in both spoken and written English.
