Site Reliability Engineer - Devops, AWS, Python/GO - 4 to 8 years

Overview

Site Reliability Engineer on Cisco’s Intersight team, focused on ensuring reliability, scalability, and security of cloud platforms at multi-region scale.

What you'll do

• Design, build, and optimize cloud and data infrastructure for high availability and scalability.
• Implement SRE practices including monitoring, alerting, error budgets, and incident management.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable solutions and improve operational efficiency via automation.
• Monitor production systems, participate in on-call rotations, and troubleshoot incidents with root cause analysis.
• Run postmortems and drive continuous improvements with proactive performance optimization.
• Use programming skills to integrate software and systems engineering for automation and platform capabilities.

What you'll need

• 5-8+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering/DevOps, Cloud Operations, or related roles.
• Experience with Kubernetes (EKS or self-managed) and Docker.
• Practical experience with networking and public cloud (preferably AWS).
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) skills using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
• Observability experience with Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, Splunk, or OpenTelemetry.
• Working knowledge of at least one programming/scripting language such as Python, Bash, or Go.
• Good understanding of Unix/Linux systems and client-server protocols.
