Overview
Senior Systems Engineer for Pure Storage’s Public Sector, Defence and Defence Industrial Base team, acting as a trusted senior technical pre-sales partner to Account Executives and channel partners across the UK and Ireland.
What you'll do
- Partner with Account Executives on public sector and defence opportunities to join discovery and shape solution direction.
- Provide senior technical leadership and mentorship within a pool of SEs supporting the business.
- Translate customer requirements into technical architectures, proposals, sizing, quotes, and solution concepts.
- Run technical presentations, demos, workshops, and follow-up sessions (remote and on-site across the UK and Ireland).
- Enable and coach channel partner SEs via workshops, bootcamps, and joint customer engagement.
- Validate technical fit for opportunities across storage architecture, protocols, virtualisation environments, and infrastructure considerations with security/resilience focus.
- Collaborate with internal teams to solve customer challenges and deliver a buying experience.
What you'll need
- 10+ years of relevant experience in pre-sales, systems engineering, solution architecture, or similar customer-facing technical roles.
- Strong storage and infrastructure fundamentals (storage experience strongly preferred).
- Good understanding of block, file, and object storage plus related technologies (FC, iSCSI, NAS, SAN, virtualisation, VMware-style environments).
- Highly valuable familiarity with UK government and defence procurement frameworks (e.g., G-Cloud, Crown Commercial Service) and security accreditation processes.
- Ability to lead consultative technical discovery and engage confidently with senior stakeholders.
- Strong communication and presentation skills for technical and non-technical audiences, including senior government/defence stakeholders.
- Completed enhanced UK Government security vetting required.

- Role is remote based and requires regular travel across the UK to meet customers and partners in person.
