Software Development Engineer (L3)

Overview

Senior/Staff Software Engineer role in Twilio’s Enterprise AI Engineering team, focused on transforming Customer Support operations with AI-powered tools and agentic products.

What you'll do

• Co-lead design and development of software infrastructure to drive technical vision for scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Develop sophisticated, stateful web applications using React-based front-ends and backend modular services.
• Serve as developer leader for distributed systems and data technologies.
• Drive technical innovation and research for emerging data technologies and best practices.
• Mentor engineers through deep-dive code reviews and architectural workshops.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across the data lifecycle with industry best practices and compliance standards.

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 6+ years of experience in data engineering, software development, or a related field, with at least 1 year leading projects.
• Experience with full-stack development building web apps using JavaScript, TypeScript, or React.
• Track record of architecting and delivering complex data projects at scale with deep understanding of data infrastructure and distributed systems.
• Understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL, including designing and optimizing data pipelines.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to influence technical decisions and drive alignment.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and deliver results under tight timelines.
