Overview

Software Engineer 2 (Backend/Data) at JLL Technologies working on backend services and data platform components for Azara, an AI-driven data intelligence platform for commercial real estate.

What you'll do

• Develop and maintain backend services and APIs using Python (FastAPI) with Pydantic.
• Implement data access layers, caching logic with Redis, and integrations with internal/external services.
• Build and maintain data processing scripts and pipelines with SQL databases, Redis, and Azure cloud storage.
• Connect backend services with Databricks, analytics engines, and AI services.
• Optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and data transformation logic.
• Implement asynchronous task processing using Celery and message brokers.
• Collaborate in an Agile environment and progress from guided work to increased feature ownership.

What you'll need

• 3-5 years of professional software engineering experience with demonstrable Python skills.
• Hands-on experience with at least one Python web framework (FastAPI preferred).
• Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases (PostgreSQL, SQL Server).
• Understanding of RESTful API design, Pydantic data models, and HTTP protocols.
• Familiarity with Git version control and collaborative development workflows.
• Basic understanding of Microsoft Azure cloud platform and deployment concepts.
• Ability to build basic AI agents or AI-augmented automation for backend/data workflows.
