Software Engineer 5 - TV Client Foundations

Overview

Software Engineer (Level 5) for Netflix’s TV Client Foundations team, focused on building and expanding TV platform capabilities for streaming UI experiences.

What you'll do

• Design performance-focused UI architectures for TV application use cases.
• Scale solutions to support 100+ engineers and efficiently manage resources.
• Enable new technology integrations on Netflix’s custom TV platform.
• Apply systems thinking to shape application architecture.
• Improve performance, memory usage, and user interfaces by investigating internals.
• Collaborate closely with UI Engineering, Design, Platform, and tooling teams.

What you'll need

• Experience balancing developer experience/ergonomics with performance, memory, and scalability.
• Performance and memory profiling experience.
• TypeScript/JavaScript experience.
• Comfort using systems thinking for application architecture.
• Experience with languages such as C++ (example given).
• Experience with React, Preact, or Inferno (examples given).
• Experience with GraphQL or similar data access solutions, and API design.
