Software Engineer

Overview

Software Engineer joining Cisco’s UC development team to design and deliver Unified Communication products and contribute to UC/SDWAN feature development with AI-enabled workflows.

What you’ll do

• Design and deliver next-generation Unified Communication products for Cloud Calling and Secure Voice Gateway.
• Contribute to development of UC/SDWAN features and integrate UC capabilities into Cisco SD-WAN.
• Work with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain VG and VoIP products.
• Support transition from on-prem calling to cloud calling.
• Adopt AI-powered tools across the development lifecycle, including code generation and automated testing.
• Develop software subsystems/components with focus on networking data paths, performance, and security.

What you’ll need

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 1 to 3 years of relevant software development experience in networking, embedded systems, or related areas.
• Proficiency in C; Python experience is highly desirable.
• Experience using modern AI tools for development, such as AI-driven code assistants, static analysis, and test automation.
• Knowledge of secure software development principles and network security best practices.
• Strong self-motivation and problem-solving skills with a focus on secure, intelligent solutions.

Nice to have

• Experience integrating AI/ML techniques in networking or VoIP products.
• Knowledge of SIP, DSP, codecs, and Cloud Calling.
• Demonstrated experience evaluating and deploying AI tools in software development pipelines.
• Experience with embedded operating systems and Linux in resource-constrained environments.
