Software Engineer, Research Data Platform

Overview

Software Engineer for Anthropic’s Research Data Platform, building the tools researchers use to manage, query, and analyze training and evaluation data.

What you’ll do

• Build and operate data pipelines that move data from research training runs into fast-to-query storage systems.
• Work with researchers to design and build APIs, libraries, and web interfaces for data management and analysis.
• Develop dataset management, data cataloging, and provenance tooling for day-to-day researcher workflows.
• Embed with research teams to understand workflows, identify high-leverage tooling opportunities, and ship solutions.
• Collaborate with adjacent teams to extend existing systems rather than reinvent them.

What you’ll need

• Significant software engineering experience.
• Experience building data-intensive applications or internal tooling.
• Ability to work directly with users, gather requirements iteratively, and ship adopted solutions.
• Results-oriented mindset with a bias towards flexibility and impact.
• Ability to learn new domains quickly and pick up research context.

Details

• Location-based hybrid policy: expected to be in an office at least 25% of the time.
