Overview
Engineering Manager for Anthropic’s Network Security team, leading how network security controls are designed, built, deployed, and monitored across cloud providers and bare-metal AI data centers.
What you'll do
- Own the network security roadmap, including threat modeling across the management plane, Kubernetes, and cloud interconnects.
- Reason about and help define secure-by-default default-deny ingress/egress, segmentation, private connectivity, and mTLS/service identity.
- Ship security primitives so new clusters, VPCs, and data center links inherit correct boundaries without slowing critical execution paths.
- Partner with infrastructure networking, cluster, and data center teams early to align topology, routing, and firewall decisions to security invariants.
- Build visibility into traffic and boundary drift, including exfiltration-path detection and automated remediation where safe.
- Own security evidence for security goals and compliance, answering that invariants hold and can be proven.
- Hire, grow, and retain senior security software engineers and set team practices as the team scales.
What you'll need
- 8+ years of front line management experience.
- Experience managing infrastructure or security engineering teams, including hiring, developing, and managing senior/staff engineers.
- Experience growing engineers into staff or lead roles and managing performance through coaching.
- Experience keeping a team intact and delivering through reorgs, charter changes, or leadership turnover.
- End-to-end ownership of a security or infrastructure domain, including multi-year strategy and executive risk/tradeoff accountability.
- Hands-on network security engineering experience in cloud and/or on-prem environments (e.g., VPC design, interconnects, private service connectivity, cloud firewall policy, egress control, physical segmentation, management-plane security).
- Threat modeling and risk assessment judgment for networked systems.

- Work location policy: expected to be in one of Anthropic’s offices at least 25% of the time under a location-based hybrid policy.
