Overview

Solutions Architect for Snowflake Observe, supporting the Observe post-sales practice with architecture and implementation planning for enterprise observability deployments.

What you'll do

• Join SA-attached engagements to assess telemetry, infrastructure, data volumes, tooling, and operational requirements with the Implementation Engineer.
• Design end-to-end observability architectures on Observe, including ingestion, pipeline topology, data modeling, enrichment/normalization, alerting, and retention.
• Define implementation approach and architecture blueprint for Implementation Engineering teams.
• Validate configurations, pipelines, and data models meet production-scale requirements before execution begins.
• Review and produce handoff artifacts such as reference architectures, decision records, implementation plans, and standards.
• Lead architecture reviews at go-live and support Implementation teams for architectural blockers and scope changes.
• Design phased cutover strategies for migrations from other observability platforms onto Observe.

What you'll need

• 8+ years in customer-facing technical roles with a shift from execution to architecture-level thinking.
• Deep expertise in observability platforms and telemetry systems at scale, including logs/metrics/traces data modeling tradeoffs.
• Hands-on experience with OpenTelemetry, including instrumentation, collector configuration, exporters, and multi-signal pipeline design.
• Proven ability to design or lead migrations from Splunk, ELK, Datadog, New Relic, or Dynatrace to modern alternatives.
• Experience assessing complex enterprise environments and producing durable, scalable architectural designs.
• Solid understanding of AWS, GCP, Azure, containerized workloads, and Kubernetes-based environments.
• Experience producing technical documentation such as architecture diagrams, decision records, runbooks, and implementation plans.
