Overview
The Sourcing Associate manages low-risk vendor and supplier relationships, supports purchasing and sourcing activities, and contributes to supplier performance, contract, risk, and cost-saving initiatives.
What you'll do
- Manage and administer relationships for assigned low-risk vendors and suppliers.
- Plan and implement purchasing activities, measure, monitor, and report performance levels, and complete vendor or supplier evaluations and scorecards.
- Conduct review meetings to improve supplier performance, and escalate and resolve customer service issues with suppliers or vendors.
- Work with experienced sourcing consultants to identify ways to improve supply chain performance, including cost savings, quality improvements, and discount programs.
- Identify improvements in tools and processes to streamline and automate the supply or commodity management process.
- Work with contract negotiations and vendor relationships of low to medium complexity.
- Complete work under the direction of more experienced staff.
- Act as the focal point for low-risk sourcing and vendor management activities.
- Develop Strategic Sourcing strategies and lead contract negotiations for medium- to high-risk products and services.
- Draft and negotiate non-standard contract terms and conditions.
- Review, draft, and negotiate Master Agreements, Statements of Work, Change Orders, Amendments, and similar contracts.
- Research vendor contracts to identify existing relationships, rights, and risks, and proactively identify and analyze cost-saving opportunities.
- Identify and escalate risk-related issues and identify alternative options and solutions.
- Partner with business groups to issue and evaluate RFx opportunities and conduct reverse auctions.
- Establish supplier evaluation and selection criteria and coordinate supplier due diligence activities.
- Maintain current status and engagement information for active engagements in Strategic Sourcing systems.
- Ensure compliance with internal contract policies and legal and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure contracts clearly specify the rights and responsibilities of each party.
- Protect customer personal information by complying with requirements including data protection and the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA).
What you'll need
- 6+ months of Sourcing experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of work experience, training, military experience, and education.
Nice to have
- Strong experience in Supply Chain Management.
- Knowledge of contract drafting and negotiating vendor legal terms and conditions.
- Strong experience in negotiation of commercial terms.
- Cross-category experience is preferred.
