Specialist Business Analyst

Overview

Specialist Business Analyst responsible for requirement discovery, backlog ownership and proxy product ownership for product delivery on Light & Wonder's lottery and gaming platforms.

What you'll do

• Lead requirement discovery, analysis and documentation across the product lifecycle, translating business needs into epics, features, user stories, acceptance criteria, business rules and workflows.
• Own and continuously refine the product backlog so stories are clear, prioritized and development-ready, based on business value, customer impact, risk, dependencies and delivery constraints.
• Act as Proxy Product Owner for day-to-day product and requirement decisions within delegated authority.
• Work closely with Product Managers/Owners, Architects, UI/UX designers, Developers and QA during solution design and delivery, identifying requirement gaps, assumptions, dependencies, edge cases and downstream impacts.
• Provide timely functional clarification throughout development and testing, supporting defect triage, UAT, business acceptance, release readiness and requirement change impact analysis.
• Facilitate stakeholder alignment and resolve conflicting requirements or priorities.

• Strong requirements elicitation, analysis and functional solutioning.
• Product thinking with focus on business and customer outcomes.
• Strong backlog management, user story and acceptance criteria skills.
• Excellent stakeholder management, facilitation and communication.
• Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum delivery.
• Collaboration experience with UI/UX design in requirement and story refinement.
• Good understanding of APIs, integrations, data flows and enterprise applications.
• Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Visio and Draw.io.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capability.

Nice to have

• Experience acting as a Proxy Product Owner or supporting Product Management in complex enterprise or product-led environments.
