Specialist, Data Science & Artificial Intelligence

Overview

Specialist role in Data Science & Artificial Intelligence supporting analytical and modeling work to address drug product formulation and process development questions.

What you'll do

• Develop mechanistic, empirical, statistical, and hybrid models for drug product formulation and process development.
• Translate formulation and process questions into model- and data-ready problem statements with success criteria and uncertainty considerations.
• Apply statistics, Design of Experiments, multivariate analysis, and data-driven modeling to plan experiments and analyze results.
• Build predictive models and decision-support tools for drug product unit operations, including oral solid dosage forms and powder technology.
• Deliver end-to-end data science solutions across preparation, exploratory analysis, modeling, validation, deployment, and lifecycle management.
• Create visualizations, dashboards, and technical narratives to communicate insights for stakeholders.

What you'll need

• Master’s degree or PhD in specified engineering/science/statistics/data science disciplines.
• Early-career profile preferred with 2–4 years industry experience after a master’s or 0–4 years after a PhD.
• Strong engineering and mathematical foundation in areas like process science, statistics, numerical methods, and/or mechanistic modeling.
• Hands-on programming experience in Python (or similar), with ability to become productive quickly.
• Experience applying statistics, DoE, data analysis, simulation, optimization, and/or machine learning to engineering/scientific problems.
• Ability to work with experimental and industrial datasets, including data cleaning and uncertainty-aware interpretation.

Nice to have

• Exposure to powder technology, formulation science, oral solid dosage forms, and pharmaceutical unit operations.
• Exposure to QbD principles, PAT concepts, or regulatory-relevant modeling activities.
• Experience working in global matrix organizations.
