Job description

Overview

Manage and oversee end-to-end UK payroll operations, ensuring accurate and timely processing in a fast-paced, global environment. The role requires strong payroll processing expertise and a solid understanding of UK payroll legislation and systems.

What you'll do

  • Manage and oversee end-to-end UK payroll operations, ensuring accurate and timely processing for all employees.
  • Validate payroll data including new starters, leavers, salary changes, bonuses, and deductions.
  • Ensure correct calculation of PAYE, National Insurance, pensions, and statutory payments including SMP, SSP, and SPP.
  • Review and reconcile payroll output to maintain accuracy prior to approvals and disbursement.
  • Ensure payroll processes fully comply with HMRC regulations, RTI reporting, and UK employment law.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax codes, auto-enrolment pensions, and statutory legislation changes.
  • Support internal and external payroll audits by providing documentation and analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with GDPR and company data protection policies.

What you'll need

  • Good understanding of employment law and tax regulations and their application to payroll procedures.
  • Experience with SAP ECC 6 system payroll data entry and reporting, Workday, UKG, and country vendor tools.
  • Fast and accurate data entry, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage priorities while working to sensitive payroll deadlines and collaborate at all levels across the business.
  • Good Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
  • Some understanding of payroll accounting practices and procedures.
  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Economics, or Finance; or a Master's degree in Business Administration or Business Analytics.
  • Required skills include Global Payroll, Incentive Compensation, Payroll Management, Payroll Processing, Payroll Taxes, and Workday Payroll.
  • English language proficiency at Upper Intermediate - B2 level.

Nice to have

  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification.
  • Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP) certification.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification.
