Specialist Software Engineer

Overview

Specialist Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain software applications for the Clinical Computation Platform Product Team, ensuring availability, performance, and minimal downtime.

What you'll do

• Design, develop, and maintain software applications and solutions aligned to business needs.
• Ensure availability and performance of critical systems and applications.
• Automate operations, monitor system health, and respond to incidents to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to build scalable software solutions.
• Develop front-end and back-end components using cloud technology.
• Implement backend services, APIs, and microservices, including event-driven or service-oriented architectures.

What you'll need

• 9–12 years of experience (Bachelor’s or Master’s) in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
• Experience with messaging technologies: Kafka, SNS/SQS, or Event Hubs.
• Knowledge of data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL/ELT concepts.
• Programming experience with Python and Java.
• Strong understanding of Agile and Scrum software development methodologies.
• Experience with SQL databases and Oracle/Redshift.
• Experience working with and developing APIs.

Nice to have

• Experience with DevOps tools and practices.
• Strong understanding of systems engineering processes and methodologies.
• Experience with systems integration and validation.
• Experience with Clinical Domain and GxP regulations.

Details

• Requires work on a later shift and possible assignment to a second or third shift schedule.
• Evening or night shift work may be required based on business needs.
