Sr. Application Engineer II

Overview

Support pre-sales engineering for BMS Controls India projects according to vertical-specific standards. Prepare competitive bids, maintain quality standards and deliver projects on time to support customer satisfaction.

What you'll do

• Review project inputs and specifications, capture the scope and understand the complete project requirements.
• Review MEP drawings, specifications and SOPs.
• Identify equipment related to Controls Systems, including HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, PHE, Fire, Plant room systems and third-party device integrations.
• Prepare and participate in project kick-off and review meetings.
• Prepare technical queries, compliance and deviations logs, risk logs and minutes of meeting.
• Follow the standard estimation process and guidelines to select the proper combination of hardware, software, equipment, materials and services for the optimum budget.
• Create bills of material and select controllers, field devices and software.
• Identify network connections and calculate cable and cable tray types and lengths related to Controls and CPM Systems.
• Prepare costing sheets including preliminaries and other costs, cost comparison charts, checklists, technical write-ups, block diagrams and deviation charts.
• Ensure quality assurance, defect-free deliverables, on-time deliveries and customer satisfaction.
• Escalate issues at the right time so they do not affect the project delivery schedule.
• Back up scope-creep escalations with evidence.
• Keep operational parameters at the desired level for all assigned projects.
• Ensure timesheet compliance for entry and review for self and team.
• Provide weekly and monthly customer reporting for project progress.
• Actively participate in organization employee engagement initiatives.

What you'll need

• BE in Instrumentation, Electrical, Electronics, or Electronics & Communication.
• Strong knowledge of Controls Systems, including HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, PHE, Fire, Plant room and third-party systems.
• Expertise in Controls Systems, including BMS and CPM Sequence of Operation.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Proficiency in MS Office tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio.
• Knowledge of network protocols such as BACnet, Modbus and OPC, and other protocols.
• Ability to be a quick learner and team player with a keen eye for problem solving.
• Proficiency in written and verbal communication.
• Ability to demonstrate good leadership skills.

Nice to have

• 8+ years of relevant experience in Controls Systems – BMS.
• Certifications on renowned PLCs and DDCs.
• Pre-sales knowledge of Security and Fire Alarm systems.
