Sr. Bus Systems Analyst - Vermilion Developer

Overview

The Vermilion Developer will support client-reporting activities and deliver Business Intelligence solutions using Vermilion Reporting Suite (VRS). The role includes requirements gathering, report development, documentation, testing, deployment, issue resolution, and collaboration with clients, technology partners, operations teams, and other stakeholders.

What you'll do

• Investigate and resolve reporting-related issues using VRS development principles and practices.
• Adopt a uniform and structured report-development methodology that improves accuracy, minimizes duplication, and allows for future adaptability.
• Comply with established Vermilion development standards and participate in their ongoing improvement.
• Help define and strengthen best practices and processes that support consistent report development across the Vermilion platform.
• Complete assigned deliverables within agreed timelines and established quality measures.
• Assist the VRS BAU Lead and Project Lead with requirements analysis, effort estimates, solution design, development scheduling, and delivery execution.
• Highlight potential dependencies and impacts involving other departments, products, or projects.
• Prepare technical specification documents promptly and submit them for review by senior team members.
• Confirm that supporting documentation and operational procedures are completed and approved by the Business.
• Develop working relationships with clients, technology partners, and operations teams to understand needs, address issues, recommend solutions, and identify service-enhancement opportunities.
• Deliver on the design, development, documentation, testing, and modification of existing and new Business Intelligence solutions.
• Participate in architecture design and performance monitoring.
• Gather business requirements, improve existing reports, create new reporting solutions, and transition Vermilion-based reports to clients.

What you'll need

• Demonstrated proficiency in developing solutions using Vermilion Reporting Suite (VRS).
• Advanced capability in SQL and scripting.
• Well-developed technical analysis skills, including the ability to understand complex data models and reporting needs.
• Practical experience delivering projects through Agile methodologies.
• Knowledge of the complete client-reporting process, from initial requirements through production release.
• Ability to evaluate business requirement documents and deliver appropriate solutions within committed timelines.
• Experience designing tailored templates, including connectors, data sources, components, and report sections.
• Experience configuring bespoke workflows, such as obligations, tasks, and process flows.
• Thorough understanding of report production and deployment activities.
• Previous exposure to investment banking reports and related modules.
• Experience partnering with data-mart development teams.
• Strong knowledge of the full development lifecycle, covering business requirements, testing, implementation, and delivery.
• Practical experience with JIRA for sprint planning and development workload management.
• Clear and effective written and verbal communication abilities.
• Strong analytical thinking, organization, prioritization, and time-management capability.
• A careful and accurate approach, supported by a strong commitment to service quality.
• Good working knowledge of accounting, performance measurement, and reporting.
• A practical, proactive, and delivery-oriented approach with a positive attitude.
• Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to work effectively across functions and geographic regions.
• An energetic, curious, and innovative outlook, with a consistent focus on improving processes and outcomes.
• Experience of around 5-7 years.
• Substantial practical experience in Vermilion development, comparable platforms, or enterprise-scale reporting applications.

Nice to have

• Broad financial-services experience, preferably gained in investment banking or with a provider of reporting or software solutions.
• Experience in financial services, ideally investment banking.
