Overview
Lead evaluation strategies for FPGA prototypes and automotive networking ASICs, from platform bring-up through system validation, characterisation, and release readiness. The role combines laboratory testing, software development, automation, data analysis, and technical leadership.
What you'll do
- Define and execute evaluation strategies, test plans, coverage goals, and release criteria.
- Translate product and system requirements into functional, performance, interoperability, robustness, and corner-case tests.
- Develop C and Python software for instrument control, data acquisition, regression testing, and reporting.
- Debug silicon and FPGA failures across hardware, firmware, software, interfaces, and system boundaries.
- Perform electrical and functional measurements using laboratory equipment.
- Evaluate automotive Ethernet functionality, including performance, timing, diagnostics, and interoperability.
- Lead root-cause investigations, mentor engineers, and communicate technical recommendations.
What you'll need
- Four or more years of relevant experience in design evaluation, silicon validation, product engineering, or systems engineering.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience evaluating FPGA prototypes and validating or characterising ASICs.
- Strong C and Python skills for test, automation, or embedded software.
- Knowledge of embedded systems, digital hardware, laboratory measurement, and hardware/software integration.
- Working knowledge of Ethernet, networking, SPI, I²C, and UART.
- Strong debugging, technical communication, collaboration, and root-cause analysis skills.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with automotive networking architectures, zonal systems, software-defined vehicles, and industry standards.
- Experience with Ethernet protocol analysis, traffic generation, performance measurement, interoperability testing, or fault injection.
- Experience developing microcontroller firmware and integrating host software with evaluation hardware.
- Familiarity with PDM and RGB8 audio or video interfaces.
- Experience with source control, continuous integration, regression frameworks, requirements traceability, or issue tracking.
