Sr Java Developer - Tech Lead

Overview

Sr Java Developer – Tech Lead role to design, develop, and maintain backend systems for payment platform solutions.

What you'll do

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of backend systems using Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and microservices.
• Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions with business teams, architects, QA, DevOps, and client stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs, payment service integrations, and enterprise applications.
• Run technical design discussions, code reviews, and enforce coding standards and best practices.
• Mentor and guide developers across the software development lifecycle.
• Analyze and resolve complex production issues, including performance bottlenecks and stability challenges.
• Optimize performance, scalability, security, and reliability for high-volume transaction processing.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 10-14 years of hands-on experience in Java/J2EE application development.
• At least 3+ years experience in a Technical Lead role.
• Strong expertise in Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, Hibernate, REST APIs, Microservices, and SQL.
• Experience designing and developing enterprise-scale applications and distributed systems.
• Experience with Oracle/PostgreSQL database design, optimization, and performance tuning.
• Knowledge of secure coding practices, including API security practices and compliance requirements.

Nice to have

• Exposure to CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms.
• Experience in Digital Payments, Mobile Wallets, FinTech, Banking, or Telecom Financial Services.
• Preferred domain experience: Mobile Wallets, Payments, Remittance, Merchant Payments, QR Payments, Banking Integrations, eKYC, and Digital Financial Services.
