Overview

Senior engineering leader for eBay Ads Engineering and MarTech Engineering, building scalable platforms and workflows for sellers and advertisers.

What you'll do

• Lead the build, development, and evolution of scalable systems and distributed platforms.
• Stay actively involved in architecture discussions, build reviews, and critical code paths.
• Drive modernization initiatives, including migration from monolithic systems to cloud-native microservices.
• Partner with architects, product leaders, and engineering teams on long-term technology strategy.
• Promote engineering excellence through code quality, performance optimization, observability, resiliency, and operational excellence.
• Lead and develop engineering teams across multiple geographies and time zones.
• Influence engineering practices, architecture standards, and technology roadmaps.

What you'll need

• Over 12 years of software engineering experience.
• Hands-on expertise in Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience with microservices, distributed systems, and event-driven architectures.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure).
• Proven ability to build and scale high-throughput, low-latency platforms serving millions of customers.
• Strong knowledge of scalability, resiliency, observability, and performance engineering.
• Experience with AI and machine learning-powered platform capabilities.
