Sr Operations Specialist, Operations

Overview

Sr Operations Specialist for the S&P Cappitech Support and Operations team, focused on investigating and resolving client/regulatory reporting issues through delivery of solutions.

What you'll do

• Handle customer enquiries and requests until resolution.
• Escalate issues when needed and ensure follow-up until resolved.
• Support validation or User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for issue resolution.
• Conduct Root Cause Analysis to identify data inconsistencies.
• Troubleshoot issues by reviewing data in formats such as Excel, JSON, XML, and FPML messages.
• Manage cases to ensure client responses within defined SLAs and update case status/comments.
• Handle production incidents and collaborate with internal teams to remediate root causes.

What you'll need

• Finance/accounting/business (or related) foundation is required.
• Experience in an Agile environment, preferably as a Business Analyst or product ownership role.
• Proficiency in Excel and SQL, plus intermediate understanding of an API.
• Demonstrated experience in financial markets or fintech.
• Knowledge of trade lifecycle across major financial asset classes including securities finance, exchange-traded, and OTC derivatives.
• Familiarity with regulatory reporting regimes such as SFTR/MiFID/EMIR/ASIC/MAS/CFTC.
• Competence in querying and extracting data from databases.
