Overview
Senior Project Manager leading end-to-end delivery of Agentic AP Suite implementations for enterprise clients within Genpact's Technology Delivery team.
What you'll do
- Own end-to-end delivery of Agentic AP Suite implementations across one or more enterprise clients, from discovery through hypercare, on time, within budget, and to agreed quality standards.
- Build and maintain the integrated delivery plan, RAID log, resource plan, and financial forecast; track effort, burn, and margin against the SOW and flag variances early.
- Run the delivery cadence, including sprint planning and reviews, daily stand-ups, defect triage, release readiness and go/no-go reviews, and cutover planning with tested rollback options.
- Manage scope and change formally, assessing every change request for commercial, technical, and timeline impact and securing client and internal approvals before committing.
- Lead cross-functional pods spanning solution architects, AI/ML and data engineers, AP process SMEs, integration and ERP consultants, QA, security, and client-side teams, holding matrixed and vendor resources to plan without direct line authority.
- Translate client AP process requirements into a deliverable configuration of the Agentic AP Suite, including agent scope and autonomy levels, human-in-the-loop checkpoints, straight-through-processing targets, and exception routing rules.
- Drive the accuracy and benefit case by baselining current-state AP metrics, defining acceptance thresholds, and evidencing realised improvement at go-live and through hypercare.
- Manage the realities of AI delivery, including extraction accuracy on messy invoice populations, prompt and model iteration cycles, golden-dataset and regression testing, confidence thresholds, and fallback-to-human paths, and set honest client expectations about what agents will and will not decide autonomously.
- Partner with Responsible AI, InfoSec, and Data Privacy to clear the solution through client and Genpact governance, covering data classification, PII handling, audit trail and explainability requirements, agent action logging, segregation of duties, and SOX and internal-control impact for AP approvals and payment release.
- Own delivery of the integration landscape connecting the suite to client systems of record, including SAP (ECC / S/4HANA), Oracle, Workday, or equivalent ERPs, and P2P platforms such as Coupa, SAP Ariba, or Basware, covering vendor master, purchase orders, goods receipts, invoice posting, payment blocks, and GL and tax determination.
- Govern interface design and build across APIs, middleware and iPaaS, IDoc/BAPI/OData, RPA hand-offs, SFTP batch, and email and document intake channels, ensuring environment strategy, connectivity, and credentials are secured ahead of build.
- Drive master data and data-quality readiness, including vendor and tax master hygiene, tolerance and approval matrices, chart-of-accounts and cost-object mapping, and historical data for model training and validation.
- Chair technical design reviews and hold architectural decisions to a documented, testable baseline, escalating design debt rather than absorbing it silently into the plan.
- Run governance forums with evidence-based reporting covering status, milestones, benefit tracking, risks with named owners and mitigation dates, and decisions required, escalating with a recommendation.
- Manage expectations across a mixed audience of finance, operations, IT, and audit stakeholders, and keep internal Genpact leadership, practice, and account teams aligned.
- Support pre-sales and account growth where required, including delivery input to proposals and estimates, solution demonstrations, implementation roadmaps, and identification of expansion opportunities across the wider source-to-pay estate.
- Implement quality control across the lifecycle, including requirements traceability, peer and design reviews, and a test strategy spanning functional, integration, accuracy/model, regression, security, performance, and user acceptance testing, with entry and exit criteria at each gate.
- Identify, quantify, and actively work risks and issues, maintaining contingency for poor invoice image quality, unmapped exception scenarios, ERP release freezes, and slow client-side decision making.
- Own change and incident management for the solution in transition, including CAB submissions, release and deployment approvals, defect SLAs during hypercare, and a documented handover to run-state support and the client's AP operations team.
- Drive adoption through role-based training, updated desktop procedures and control documentation, super-user enablement, and a communication plan addressing the workforce impact of agentic automation.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
- Relevant years of total experience, including relevant years managing enterprise technology or digital transformation programmes end to end as the accountable delivery lead.
- Demonstrable experience delivering data, digital, automation, or AI projects in a client-facing capacity, not solely internal IT delivery.
- Working knowledge of the accounts payable and invoice-to-pay process, including invoice capture and intelligent document processing, PO and non-PO invoice handling, two- and three-way match, coding and approval workflow, exception and dispute management, supplier query handling, and payment run mechanics.
- Hands-on delivery exposure to intelligent automation or AI-enabled solutions, including OCR/IDP, machine learning, LLM- or agent-based automation, and how such solutions are tested, tuned, and governed in production.
- Proven experience delivering ERP-integrated solutions, with practical familiarity with at least one major ERP (SAP ECC or S/4HANA, Oracle, Workday) and one P2P platform (Coupa, SAP Ariba, Basware, or similar), and with integration patterns including APIs, middleware/iPaaS, and batch interfaces.
- Proficiency in Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall, and the judgement to run hybrid delivery where an agile build meets fixed client finance-calendar milestones.
- Strong commercial and financial management, including SOW and scope governance, estimation, effort and margin tracking, and change-order discipline.
- Excellent communication, leadership, negotiation, and structured problem-solving skills, with the ability to raise a difficult conversation with a client early rather than late.
Nice to have
- Project management certification: PMP, PRINCE2, PgMP, Certified Scrum Master, or SAFe.
- Prior delivery of AP automation, source-to-pay transformation, or finance shared-services and GBS technology programmes.
- Understanding of AI governance and Responsible AI practice, including model risk, explainability, accuracy and bias monitoring, audit trails for agent actions, and emerging regulatory expectations for autonomous systems.
- Familiarity with finance control and compliance requirements affecting AP, including SOX, segregation of duties, delegation of authority, indirect tax and e-invoicing mandates, and internal or external audit evidence needs.
- Experience with project and delivery tooling such as Jira, Azure DevOps, MS Project, Smartsheet, or Confluence, and comfort building executive-grade reporting from it.
- Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, or process re-engineering methods applied to finance processes.
- Experience in a consulting, BPO, or systems-integrator environment, and willingness to travel to client sites as delivery phases require.
