Sr Systems Engineer - Federal/DOD (Remote: DC/MD/VA)

Overview

Senior Enterprise Pre-Sales Systems Engineer providing technical and strategic advisory for enterprise data resilience and cyber recovery solutions, supporting complex sales cycles end-to-end.

What you'll do

• Lead complex enterprise pre-sales engagements from discovery through solution design and technical closure.
• Own the technical relationship across the sales cycle as the primary contact for engineering and architecture stakeholders.
• Translate customer business objectives, risk posture, and compliance requirements into resilient technical architectures.
• Deliver technical demonstrations, workshops, and executive-level presentations for C-level and senior IT audiences.
• Design, manage, and execute proof-of-concepts aligned to measurable exit conditions and customer success criteria.
• Collaborate with account executives, channel partners, product management, and engineering to influence solution architecture and outcomes.
• Mentor less experienced SE team members for technical enablement.

What you'll need

• 10+ years of experience in pre-sales engineering, solutions architecture, or senior technical leadership within enterprise IT environments within DoD/DoD programs (must-have).
• Experience leading complex multi-stakeholder enterprise sales cycles through close.
• Hands-on experience designing, deploying, and managing virtual environments at enterprise scale.
• Direct experience standing up and operating virtualized infrastructure.
• Enterprise storage systems experience, including SAN, NAS, object storage, and backup appliances in production environments.
• Strong knowledge of data resilience, infrastructure platforms, cloud services, networking, and security for architecture discussions.
• Knowledge of data security, privacy, governance, and regulatory considerations including NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2, and related requirements.

• Residence required in the DC/MD/VA area (hybrid / remote: DC/MD/VA).
• Travel requirement of 50–75%.
