Overview

Staff AI Engineer for Grafana Labs’ 2nd Horizon (2H) team, building and shipping AI-powered features for observability and data analytics use cases.

What you'll do

• Design, develop, test, and ship AI-powered features for large datasets.
• Implement rapid experimentation workflows to prototype, test, and validate with real users.
• Build LLM- or agent-powered workflows for data engineering lifecycle tasks.
• Integrate agentic components with internal tools like Slack and alerting systems.
• Use AI/automation tools to improve product functionality and development workflows.
• Own scalable, maintainable AI solutions aligned with real user workflows.

What you'll need

• Experience with LLMs, context engineering, and GenAI-powered application development.
• A proven track record of production software delivered and actively used by users.
• Exposure to cloud-native environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Experience using observability tools to understand and troubleshoot system behavior.
• Ability to build production-grade, user-facing software systems.
• Experience with AI technologies/frameworks with a focus on real-world quality outcomes.
• Ability to handle ambiguity and define scope when inputs are loosely defined.
