Forward Deployed Engineer

Overview

Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) embedding with strategic customers to drive enterprise AI adoption using Claude models.

What you'll do

• Build production applications within customer systems using Claude models while meeting customer requirements.
• Deliver production technical artifacts including MCP servers, sub-agents, and agent skills.
• Provide white-glove deployment support for Anthropic products in enterprise environments.
• Identify and codify repeatable deployment patterns and share insights with Product and Engineering teams.
• Maintain current knowledge of LLM capabilities, implementation patterns, and AI product stacks.
• Proactively identify new AI deployment opportunities across an engagement lifecycle.
• Travel frequently (25–50%) to customer sites to build in person.

What you'll need

• 8+ years of experience in a technical, customer-facing role such as Forward Deployed Engineer, or software engineering with consulting experience.
• Native German speaker with fluent English proficiency.
• Production experience with LLMs, including advanced prompt engineering, agent development, evaluation frameworks, and deployment at scale.
• Strong programming skills with proficiency in Python (and ideally additional languages such as TypeScript or Java).
• Experience shipping production applications.
• Ability to operate with high agency and navigate ambiguity in complex organizations.
• Strong communication skills for customer discovery and conveying technical concepts.

Details

• Location: Munich, Germany.
• Work policy: in one of the offices at least 25% of the time (location-based hybrid); some roles may require more office time.
