Staff Engineer – CE, Safety

Overview

Lead functional safety architecture and software engineering for ADAS/AD solutions on Qualcomm automotive SoCs. The role covers safety concepts, requirements, processes, development, customer support, and compliance with ISO 26262, SOTIF, and ASPICE.

What you'll do

• Lead functional safety initiatives for complex SoC software.
• Define safety software architectures, requirements, and plans.
• Collaborate with development teams, partners, customers, architects, and test teams.
• Support safety discussions, audits, corrective actions, and gap closure.
• Develop and debug embedded software, BSPs, and device drivers.
• Collaborate on hardware bring-up across silicon and emulation platforms.
• Create technical documentation for designs, code, and test procedures.

What you'll need

• 10–15 years of industry experience in automotive systems, embedded software, and safety engineering.
• Bachelor's degree with 4+ years, master's degree with 3+ years, or PhD with 2+ years of relevant experience.
• At least 2 years of experience with C, C++, Java, Python, or similar programming languages.
• Strong proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems.
• Experience with Linux, Android, QNX, hypervisors, or real-time operating systems.
• Experience with debugging techniques and tools including JTAG, oscilloscopes, or logic analyzers.
• Knowledge of ARM architecture, SoC peripherals, interfaces, BSPs, and device drivers.

Nice to have

• Functional safety software architecture experience in the automotive domain.
• Experience with ISO 26262, ASPICE, SOTIF, FMEA, DFA, or FTA.
• Experience with static analysis, code coverage, and safety analysis tools.
