Sr. Staff Engineer PD

Overview

Sr. Staff Engineer PD is a Physical Design Engineer role focused on executing RTL-to-GDSII physical design flows for custom silicon.

What you'll do

• Implement DFT architectures including ATPG, MBIST, LBIST, scan insertion, and analog test features.
• Execute physical design phases: synthesis, floorplanning, placement, clock tree synthesis, and place-and-route.
• Perform timing closure, power/noise analysis, and signoff verification.
• Apply design strategies to meet performance, area, and power targets under lead guidance.
• Resolve timing, congestion, and power issues using EDA tools and scripting.
• Automate flows with TCL, Python, or Perl scripts.

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 4+ years of hands-on physical design experience on SoCs from RTL-to-GDSII flows.
• Proficiency with EDA tools such as Synopsys ICC2/Fusion Compiler, Cadence Innovus/Genus, or Mentor Calibre.
• Strong knowledge of STA, power analysis, and congestion mitigation techniques.
• Experience with scripting (TCL, Python, Perl) for flow automation and debugging.
• Familiarity with advanced nodes, MCMM analysis, and IP integration.

Nice to have

• Experience with custom silicon for automotive, high-performance computing, or AI applications.
• Proactive adoption of new tools, flows, and best practices for reuse and efficiency.
