Overview
Staff Software Architect to lead the design and evolution of enterprise backend services, focusing on scalable, cloud-native distributed systems.
What you'll do
- Lead design of complex, multi-region, highly available distributed systems.
- Drive architectural reviews across product pods for reliability, security, and performance alignment.
- Author high-level documentation and standards for Azure/AWS component utilization.
- Drive transition toward Serverless/Kubernetes/Internal Developer Platforms.
- Partner with Finance and Engineering on cloud budgets, cost-control automation, and attribution models.
- Manage outcomes as an individual contributor by mentoring senior engineers and influencing cross-functional roadmaps.
What you'll need
- 9+ years in software engineering or systems architecture.
- Minimum 5 years focused on large-scale cloud environments.
- Experience architecting at least 3 large enterprise implementations or 4–6 major Agile projects.
- Under-the-hood cloud knowledge including Networking, IAM, Storage, Compute; orchestration (Kubernetes, Nomad); and Kafka event-driven patterns.
- Enterprise-scale Infrastructure as Code mastery with Terraform, Pulumi, or CloudFormation including modular design, state management, and CI/CD integration.
- Proficiency in OOAD and design patterns and at least one language: .NET, Java, Python, or Go.
- Expert knowledge of AWS, Azure, or GCP and building API-first cloud services.
