Staff Software Engineer

Overview

Lead the architecture, design, and hands-on development of scalable, resilient distributed systems for SailPoint's Human Agentic Fabric team. Build cloud-native security services using Java and GoLang while setting technical direction and mentoring engineers.

What you'll do

• Architect and build event-driven microservices for high transaction volumes.
• Develop backend services in Java and GoLang.
• Design and deploy scalable microservice enhancements.
• Optimize database queries and Kafka and Redis pipelines.
• Define technical roadmaps and reduce system latency.
• Participate in on-call support and diagnose production escalations.
• Mentor engineers and establish cross-team design and coding standards.

What you'll need

• 8+ years of professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on Java development experience.
• Hands-on professional experience developing scalable services in GoLang.
• 2+ years architecting web applications and microservices in distributed cloud environments.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Experience designing event-driven architectures using messaging systems and queues.
• Experience with automated testing, CI/CD, AWS, and engineering mentorship.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI-assisted engineering tools and workflows.
• Experience with Python AI/ML libraries such as scikit-learn, pandas, and numpy.
• Experience with PyTorch and LLM or foundation-model platforms.

• Location: Pune, India.
• Hybrid schedule with 2–3 days in the office each week.
• In-person interview required.
